Amelia Earhart’s Vega 5
18” x 24” Painted in 1974
Amelia Earhart set many records flying her Lockheed Vega. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. Later she set a woman’s transcontinental record and became the first to fly solo from Hawaii to the mainland. Her loss in the Pacific on 1 July 1937, while circumnavigating the globe with Fred Noonan still remains a mystery.
