Arizona Barrel Roll

Aviation Cadet Ervin C. Ethell, class of 41-I, honing his aerobatic skills with a barrel roll over Luke Field, Arizona practice area in an AT-6A. Ethell”s class at Luke was the first to graduate after the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Ervin Ethell was the proud father of the late renowned pilot, historian and aviation author, Jeffrey L. Ethell, who died in a P-38 accident in June, 1997.
