J-3 Cub, Introduction to Flight
18” x 24” Painted in 1989
The legendary J-3 Cub, built by Piper Aircraft Corporation in the thousands between 1938 and 1948, was so well known that to the general public, all light airplanes were “Piper Cubs”. It is claimed that four out of five U.S. pilots in World War II and civilian pilots immediately thereafter received their initial flight training in the Cub.
