The Ford Trimotor

18” by 24” Painted in 1974

Almost the entire passenger airline system in the United States was built in the late 1920s and early 30s using the “Tin Goose” which first flew on 11 June 1926.  While less than 200 of the Trimotor Fords were built, over 100 airlines and military services worldwide have flown them.  Examples of this rugged pioneer air transport are still flying.
