The DeHavilland Mosquito

The fast all wood Mosquito was the most versatile operational aircraft of World War II.  It was tasked as a fighter, bomber, photo-reconnaissance, night fighter, and torpedo bomber to mention just a few of its duties.  7,781 Mosquito’s were built and gained the reputation as one of the world’s greatest aircraft.

 

The Mosquito shown is the night fighter enroute to Germany at sundown to disrupt with the German aerial defense against Britain’s night bombers.
